Lea Valley Primary School serves a community rich in cultural, ethnic, religious, social and linguistic diversity.
We are looking for an inspirational librarian with a passion for encouraging pupils to read to join our school. Reading is at the heart of Lea Valley and our school librarian is a vital part of that The role requires someone:
- To plan and oversee the organisation and management of the excellent School Library
- To select, acquire, maintain the stock in good order
- To organise, catalogue and classify resources to ensure effective retrieval
- To make the Library attractive and accessible to pupils and staff
- To promote the effective and efficient use of the Library and its resources
- To proactively encourage reading and the enjoyment of literature
- To support the school in the delivery and administration of literacy programmes
- To embed a love of reading in all pupils.
- To help pupils select books to match their interests and activities.
- To run lunch time and after school clubs to encourage a love of reading.
