The Library

One of the facilities we are proudest of here at Lea Valley Primary is our amazing children’s library located in the school itself, and our Librarian, Mrs Dawson, who runs it.

Every week each class has a dedicated library session where they can borrow from a selection of fiction and non-fiction books and take them home to read. Children have to bring books back every week and can choose to return or keep them if unfinished. We also have a weekly after school library session on Tuesdays from 3.20pm – 4.00pm. A specific year group is invited by letter to these sessions.

Whether your child loves Tom Gates, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Harry Potter or Katie Morag, they will have tailored guidance for their reading levels and personal interests. New books are regularly added to the collection and rotated so all children get a chance to read them.

Competitions

There are always ways for your child to get more involved with reading, and the library regularly runs competitions with some great prizes for budding writers.
