Farewell Year 5

RE: Farewell Year 5

Dear Parent/ Carer,

I hope you and your family are well.  We are approaching the end of what we all agree has been a very challenging term.  I feel that, for the pupils who have not been in school, there needs to be a sense of closure of the year. Unfortunately, the children in Year 5 will not be able to see their teachers. However, they will be treated to a farewell video from their teacher next week (a link will be sent shortly).  We have arranged a short time for your child(ren) to come into school to collect their belongings.  When attending the session please enter the school site from the main gate and you will be directed by a member of staff on where to go.

Things you need to bring:

  • Any school reading books/library books that you have at home.
  • Musical instruments (Yr 5 continuers)
  • A bag so that you can carry home everything you will be given (PE kit, children’s work, etc)
  • A bit of patience as you may need to wait your turn.
  • A big smile as we’ve been missing you…

In order to do this safely we need you to…

  • Stay at home if you or anyone in your household are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus.
  • Make sure that the visit is accompanied by an adult
  • If possible bring only the child who is saying goodbye to their teacher with you to school.
  • All children must be kept with you at all times
  • Stay in the designated farewell area; you are not permitted to go to another part of the playground or inside the school building
  • Please ensure that you are keeping your distance around others at school

If your child is in a Nursery, Reception, Y1 or Y6 bubble at school, you are not expected to attend.

Remember that you may feel comfortable letting your child meet up with others, but other families may be more worried about this. So please be considerate and keep your distance from others and make sure your child stays beside you. Please speak to your child about what we expect before you come to school so that they understand.

Leaving:

After your drop-in, please leave the school site as soon as possible so that we minimise the number of families on site. Exit is from the side gate nearest the park.

Your farewell session will be as follows:

5C / 5G Tuesday 14th July 13.00-14.00

Please feel free to call us if you have any questions.  Many thanks for your support and cooperation. In this way we can all enjoy our brief time together safely.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Kokotsis
